ESS had its first Global Sales Meeting in Steyr!
The last few days of November were special for ESS, as Steyr witnessed our first Global Sales Meeting between the 28th – 30th of November 2022. Our sales colleagues from India and Turkey took part in this 3-day event, allowing themselves enough time to soak up the quiet beauty of Steyr in winter.
On Day 1 of the planned event, the participants were excited to join the others in Steyr and take part in the meetings planned for them. The day consisted of several sessions of knowledge transfer and discussions about the company’s past, present and future. It was certainly a treat to watch the members of the group engaging in creative discussions, as they put forth valuable insights and suggestions for the betterment of the company.
On Day 2, the team was able to attend a guided tour through the paint shop assembly at Steyr Automotive as well as the Volva Truck test track. Later during the day, the team prepared themselves for a short hike to Damberg Warte. It was indeed an incredible afternoon, as the teambuilding activity helped them endure the cold and tread through the hiking route with ease. As expected, the viewpoint at Damberg Warte was exceptionally rewarding. After their return from the activity, they got together at the ESS office garden and savoured some snacks and drinks.
On the final day of the event, the team participated in an internal Hackathon based on the current market scenarios. The hackathon was designed to raise awareness and formulate suitable plans of action for relevant business cases. In the afternoon, we organized a get-together for the whole company, where we shared Christmas-themed refreshments and delightful conversations. As we continued our evening, we learnt about Steyr’s long history from the Night watchmen who guided us around the city under the glow of a lantern.
Just as we thought the evening couldn’t get any better, we were presented with an amazing dinner at La Galeria restaurant, where all of us got together to spend the rest of the evening. Here, we sang carols and songs, and celebrated the joy of Christmas, and the pleasure of being together. The evening proved to be a wonderful way to conclude our first Global Sales Meeting, as we bid adieu to our colleagues who joined us from India and Turkey. This event, as memorable as it was, highlighted the value of having an environment that promotes cultural exchange and diversity in the workplace.
